The Head of Government informed journalists in Brussels in the aftermath of the Summit of European People’s Party.

"I wish to express hopes and belief that cooperation with the IMF to resume within closest weeks and Ukraine will obtain the second tranche of the loan," Yulia Tymoshenko said.

The Head of Government imparted the topic of Ukraine’s cooperation with the IMF had been mainstream in the course of today’s meeting with Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana.

Yulia Tymoshenko also stressed Ukraine had defined as correct the deficit of the State Budget in 3%. According to her, today during the EPP’s Summit among others considered was an issue of budget deficit, which has to be directed to support of real economic sector: "We were absolutely right that we haven’t determined a zero budget deficit and I am glad all anti-recessionary measures discussed during the Summit coincide with the actions made by the Government of Ukraine. All this prove we are moving in the right direction".

Besides, the Premier explained Ukraine backs a proposition concerning the second term for Jose Manuel Barroso as President of the Eurocommission: "Ukraine is not a member of the European Union but Ukraine has expressed full support to Mr. Barroso as a candidate for the second term of his presidency of the European Commission and I wish him success during the elections”.
