Ukraine simplifies border crossing for Euro 2012


The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has simplified the procedure for crossing the border for the time of holding the Euro 2012 European Football Championship...

A relevant resolution was signed on June 16 and posted on the government`s Web site.

These changes are aimed at simplifying border control during the preparations for and holding of the Euro 2012 finals in Ukraine. They envisage the cancelation of spot checks for the period from May 25 through July 1012 for citizens and stateless people, who are the authorized representatives of UEFA, companies and officials, as well as representatives of associations, members of UEFA.

Moreover, these changes apply to members of the delegations of each Football Association taking part in the championship, media representatives accredited by UEFA to cover the tournament, members of teams participating in the championship and members of organized groups of fans.

The categories of people listed above will not be required to fill immigration cards when crossing the Ukrainian border for the period from May 25 through July 15, 2012.
