...be a reliable partner of the European community, Director of the Coordination Bureau for Preparation and Holding of the European Football Championship 2012 finals Ilia Shevliak has said, according to UKRINFORM.

However, he said, UEFA retains the right to change a decision about holding EURO 2012 matches in four cities and the finals in Kyiv. It may occur in case of non-preparation of the main infrastructure projects and non-fulfillment of conditions by relevant cities or state bodies.

On December 11, the UEFA Executive Committee took a decision to leave a right to four Ukrainian cities, Kyiv, Donetsk, Lviv and Kharkiv, for holding EURO 2012 matches. In addition, a final decision was taken that the tournament finals will be held in Ukraine`s capital.

UEFA President Michel Platini will visit Ukraine on February 3-7 in order to inspect Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Lviv, three of the four cities in Ukraine that will host the UEFA EURO 2012 European Football Championship. Ukrainian Vice Premier Ivan Vasiunyk said this at a meeting of the coordination council on preparations for the championship.

He said that UEFA had secured its right to deprive any host city of its right to host the competition if it not properly prepared for the championship.

UEFA will continue to monitor preparations for the tournament and if the deadlines on the preparation of facilities are broken or standards are not met, UEFA may deprive any city of its right to stage EURO 2012 matches.
