Dollar will stabilize in Ukraine soon


The dollar exchange rate to the hryvnia will stabilize in the near term, according to the acting finance minister, Ihor Umansky...

"I`m sure that as soon as the period of holiday and business trips ends, including at the National Bank of Ukraine [NBU], and the team returns to work, the situation will stabilize and will be taken under control," he said, speaking at the parliament on Wednesday.

Umansky expressed confidence that a recent rise in the dollar exchange rate was linked to a "nervous reaction" of the market to political instability.

He said that there are no realistic economic, financial and monetary grounds for the dollar exchange rate changes. He said that the NBU was standing by this opinion
